About the Chernobyl Children’s Project International

The Chernobyl Children’s Project International ( was established in 1991 to effect real change in the Chernobyl-affected areas harnessing the unique spirit of volunteerism that permeates every level of the organisation.

The Project wishes to develop, facilitate and effect long-term sustainable community-based solutions, providing effective principled humanitarian assistance while advocating for the rights of the victims and survivors of the Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster.

Since its establishment the organisation has delivered over €60 million in direct and indirect medical and humanitarian aid to the Chernobyl-effected regions.

The organisation has achieved United Nations NGO status and works with a number of international agencies in the delivery of its aid programmes
